How Can Students Learn Comfortably in Uncomfortable Classroom?
A comfortable study space is every student's dream. However, in reality, it is not always that ideal, as we are sometimes faced with inadequate facilities. Here, we will discuss several things based on what I have experienced and observed. As a third-semester student, I have certainly enjoyed many things over the past year. One of them is a classroom that exceeded my expectations, which raises the question: how can students study comfortably in an uncomfortable classroom?
Inadequate facilities certainly make our learning process less than optimal. What if the classroom experiences water leakage from the floor above, perhaps because it is located directly below the water flow? This causes the classroom ceiling to deteriorate, resulting in water dripping from above and the appearance of green moss on the ceiling. This certainly damages the aesthetics of learning and makes learning uncomfortable. In addition, it can cause damage to the electrical system in the classroom, such as the malfunctioning of some of the lights in the classroom.
Compare this to a comfortable classroom, where all the facilities work well, the air is cool, and the atmosphere is calm. Students studying in such a classroom will certainly feel very comfortable and be able to focus more on the material. Thus, the teaching and learning process can run optimally, resulting in effective learning. This means that facilities are not just accessories, but an important foundation for achieving maximum learning outcomes.
Therefore, campuses need to view facilities not merely as an expense, but as a long-term investment in the quality of education. Maintaining classrooms and providing adequate facilities are tangible expressions of care for students.
